"Tell me, what was your first…

…design?
A couple of days ago, I happen to read a blog post by Gavin Elliott: “Designers, what was your first piece of work?.” 24 designers speak about their first designs. Since I am not a celebrity, Gavin didn’t take the trouble of contacting me.

Transparent Background in SolidWorks Rendering

I do most of my product designs in SolidWorks tool. When I am happy with a rendered image of the model, I use Photoshop to enhance this JPG image by adding backgrounds. The only hitch in this process is cutting-out the model from its default background using a combination of Magnetic Lasso and Magic Wand tools in Photoshop. Design – 404 Page of antzFx.com

Have you ever lost your way?
I don’t know about you, but I am generally fortunate in ‘losing my way.’ And, I am always hesitant to ask for directions. I circle the same place many times, trying out one exit option at a time and lose half an hour in the process.

Design – Logo for Barcamp Bangalore 8

Are you able to spot the ‘eight?’
They all started as doodles on the last page of my notebook. It was an afternoon, I had a heavy meal, I was attending a lecture and I felt sleepy. To scare away the sleep, I started drawing the logo ideas concentrating on ‘8.’

Now, a happy news
Barcamp Bangalore 8 (also known as ‘BCB8’) is happening on 7th and 8th of March 2009. As usual, they organised a logo competition.  After 25 days of online voting, I am fortunate to get 27 votes from netizens and emerged as the winner.
